THCA flower is cannabis bud that still holds most of its cannabinoids in acid form. The main one is tetrahydrocannabinolic acid (THCA). Raw, unheated cannabis does not contain much delta-9 THC. How THCA Turns Into THC

Why It Is Sold

The 2018 Farm Bill defines hemp as Cannabis sativa L. with no more than 0.3% delta-9 THC on a dry weight basis. That cap applies to delta-9 THC, not to THCA. Sellers in states that allow hemp-derived products use that gap to move flower that tests high in THCA and low in delta-9 THC. Rules are not uniform. Some states now count total THC, which includes THCA after conversion, and have restricted or banned these products.
