Ask to see the certificate of analysis for that exact batch. Terpene numbers move from harvest to harvest, and two jars of the same strain can test very differently. Labs also differ in how they measure terpenes, so 2% from one lab is not identical to 2% from another. A shop that can pull up the COA knows its product.
What the bud should look and feel like

- Springy texture: bends slightly, does not snap or crumble
- Sticky fingers: a little resin on your skin after handling
