How the schedule shifts by stage

• Seedlings (22 to 26°C): small root mass, small sips. Water a 5 to 8 cm ring around the stem every 3 to 4 days, not the whole pot.
• Vegetative (20 to 26°C): every 2 to 3 days in soil, daily to every other day in coco.
• Early flower (20 to 25°C): every 2 days. Stretch stops and demand climbs.
• Late flower (18 to 24°C): every 1 to 2 days. Big colas, heavy transpiration, and a root ball that fills the pot.
• Cold rooms (under 18°C): 4 to 6 days. Water less and water warmer.

Water temperature matters too

Drooping leaves that stay limp after watering, fungus gnats, and a sour smell point to a schedule that is too wet for your Celsius range. Crisp edges, pots that feel weightless, and leaves that perk up within an hour of watering mean you waited too long. Humidity ties in here as well: a 30°C room at 40% RH pulls water out of the medium far faster than the same room at 65% RH.

Adjusting for pot size and medium

Small pots dry faster than large ones at the same temperature, and perlite-heavy mixes dry faster than peat-heavy ones. When you change pot size or medium, reset the schedule and re-learn the weight of a wet pot. It takes about a week.
