If your cannabis cart isn't hitting, the most common culprits are a dead battery, a poor connection, a clogged airway, or an empty cartridge. Work through these quick fixes in order to get back to your session without guesswork.

Check the Battery Charge and Power

Ensure your battery has enough power. Many pen-style batteries have a small LED light that signals activation. If you press the button and see no light, recharge the battery for 15-30 minutes before trying again.

Inspect the Cartridge Connection

The metal threading between the cart and battery can loosen over time or pick up sticky residue. Wipe the threaded areas with a cotton swab dipped in isopropyl alcohol, then let them dry. Screw the cart on hand-tight—too much force can damage the connection.

Clear a Clogged Cart

Clogs are common when oil cools and hardens inside the airway. Use your battery's preheat cycle for 2-3 seconds, then take a slow, gentle pull without pressing the button. If airflow is still blocked, carefully use a toothpick to clear the central channel of the mouthpiece.

Warm Up Thick Oil

Cold oil becomes viscous and won't wick properly. Warm your cart by keeping it in your pocket for a few minutes or holding the battery in your hand. Some cartridges respond well to one or two gentle preheat pulses, which thins the oil for a smoother hit.

Check for Empty or Defective Carts

Look at the glass window to see if the oil level is nearly gone. If the cart feels light and the coil has dry spots, you may simply need a refill or replacement. If you've tried all steps and still get no vapor, the cart's internal wiring may be defective—time for a new one.
