Cannabis specials in 2024 are limited-time price cuts that dispensaries put on flower, vape carts, edibles, and concentrates. Most stores run them on set weekdays, around cannabis holidays, and for loyalty members. The real savings show up when you compare price per gram or per milligram, not the percentage on the sign.
Cannabis Specials Saturday: How to Shop the Deals
How do cannabis specials work in 2024?
A special is a discount the store controls, so terms change from week to week. Some deals apply to one product line, others to the whole order. A store can pull a special at any time, and online menus update faster than printed flyers.
Cannabis Specials Delivery: How to Read the Deal
Deals mostly fall into five groups:

- Weekday drops: lower prices on Tuesday through Thursday, when foot traffic is slow.
- Category deals: a set percentage off all edibles, or two vape carts for one price.
- Volume pricing: ounce or half-ounce rates that beat the per-gram price.
- Member pricing: points, punch cards, or a flat discount for loyalty sign-ups.
- Event pricing: 4/20, 7/10, Green Wednesday, store anniversaries, and harvest sales.
Do cannabis discounts stack?
Rare. Most stores let you use one discount per order, and some exclude sale items from loyalty points. Read the fine print before you build a cart around a deal.
Medical and adult-use pricing
In states with both markets, medical patients often pay lower tax, which can beat a recreational special. Ask which register applies to you before checkout.
Which cannabis specials save the most money?
Percentage-off signs are easy to compare, but unit price tells the truth. Run the math before you commit.
Example: a $30 eighth at 20% off is $24, or $6.86 a gram. A $25 eighth at full price is $7.14 a gram. The sale item wins by about 28 cents a gram, and tax can shrink that gap at the register.
Bundles and volume deals tend to save more than small percentage cuts, but only if you will use the whole package. A cheap ounce you use half of costs more than the eighth you finish.
Deals worth taking
- Ounce or half-ounce pricing on flower you already buy.
- First-time customer discounts, often the best single coupon a shop offers.
- Member pricing that applies to every visit, not one product line.
- Clearance on sealed products that still list a harvest date.
Deals to skip
- Deep discounts on products with no harvest or test date.
- BOGO offers that push you past your daily purchase limit.
- Spend-more-save-more promos when you only need one item.
Where do you find cannabis specials?
- Check the store's own online menu first. It updates faster than third-party listings.
- Join the text or email list. Many shops send a code that never appears on the menu.
- Look at the in-store board, or ask the budtender what just dropped in price.
- Call before a holiday. Staff know what is left and what sold out.
Deal apps help with discovery, but confirm the price with the store. A stale listing can send you across town for a special that ended on Sunday.
Do state rules change what specials a store can offer?
Yes. Purchase limits, advertising rules, and tax rates vary by state, and each one shapes the deals you see.
Daily purchase caps limit how much a volume deal can include. Some states restrict outdoor ads and social promos, so stores push deals by text, email, or on their own site. Tax treatment for medical and adult-use sales differs, which changes the final price even when sticker prices match.
Check your state regulator's rules if a deal looks too good to be true. A store cannot sell past the cap, no matter what the sign says.
When are the best cannabis deals of the year?
Cannabis holidays carry the deepest cuts. 4/20 in April and 7/10 (Dab Day) in July draw the biggest promotions. Green Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving, has become a strong flower and vape sale in many markets.
Outdoor harvest lands in fall, so October and November often bring lower flower prices. Store anniversaries and end-of-month inventory clear-outs are worth tracking too.
Supply matters more than the calendar in some states. When a new grow opens nearby, prices fall for everyone.
How do you check a special before you buy?
- Ask for the out-the-door price, tax included.
- Confirm the discount applies to the product in your hand, not just the shelf tag.
- Check the harvest or packaging date on flower and carts.
- Compare the sale unit price with a second store's everyday price.
Frequently asked questions
Are cannabis specials cheaper than regular prices?
Most are, but only against that store's own base price. Compare the sale unit price with a competitor's everyday price before you drive over.
Can medical patients use recreational specials?
Depends on the shop. Some run separate menus and discounts; others apply the same special to both registers. Ask before checkout.
Do online specials match in-store prices?
In most shops, yes, and the online menu is the more current source. A few stores hold certain deals for walk-in customers, so a short call saves guesswork.
Are cannabis deals the same every week?
No. Weekday deals rotate, and holiday promos run for a few days at most. Menus and text alerts are the fastest way to see what is live right now.
